Effective 19 September 2026. Applies to chitthi.org and the Chitthi apps for Android (published by Anantex) and iOS (published by Sandhu Technologies LLC).
Nothing. Chitthi has no account, no sign-in, no server that receives what you write, no analytics and no advertising. We cannot see, recover or hand over anything you put into it, because we never receive it.
Your account, the seal, the paper, the letters, and the codes of any photographs, documents or recordings you add are kept only on your phone. The apps are set so that this data is not included in phone backups or phone-to-phone transfers.
If you choose to speak instead of type, your phone's own speech service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS) turns your voice into words while you are speaking. That processing is done by that company under its own terms. If you want nothing to leave your phone, type instead, or add a recording you already made — adding a recording does not use the speech service.
Only if you tap to add where you are. The coordinates are written onto your own paper on your phone and are not sent anywhere by Chitthi.
Something leaves your phone only when you send it yourself — through your phone's share sheet, by printing, or by saving a copy. Whoever receives it can read it.
“Close” removes your unfinished draft. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. There is nothing held anywhere else to delete.
Chitthi is intended for adults.
